General

How soon do we need to book with you before we need you?

Well... It depends... For most of our services, we say "As soon as you know". For our "overnight" services, the sooner the better. Since we only have so many staff who can work those appointments, and since human cloning hasn't come very far, those appointments, during busy times fill up quickly.

In all cases, even last minute, we'll do our very best to fit you in the schedule.

Are you bonded and insured?

Yes, Cherished Paws is fully insured and bonded for both our clients' and their pet's protection as well as our own. Proof of insurance and bonding will be providing during our initial consult and as requested.

How long have you been in business?

Cherished Paws has been taking care of our client's pets' since 2013. We started Cherished Paws as a hobby, and it has grown to a full-time job for Jamie. While Mark has a full-time job doing computer work, he still finds time to help with appointments in his "spare time".

Can you guarantee an arrival time during your visits?

We try very hard to make sure your pets schedule remains the same during our time with them. Due to the nature of our business however, most times it's not possible to guarantee an arrival time. Our first priority is always pets with medicine(s) that need to be administered at a given time. Once those pets are in the schedule, we then visit the remainder of our clients needing visits within a certain time window.

How do I calculate the pricing for our visit?

That's a very good question! Sometimes, looking at our prices can be confusing, so we will go through a few examples to help sort it out. Our pricing is based on the length of the visit, but we also have additional pet fees, based on the type of animal.

Example 1 - I need multiple visits a day for my dog.

  • I would like someone to visit with him once in the morning to let him out and feed him. Another visit in the late afternoon to feed him again and let him out, and finally a visit later in the evening, just to let him out.
  • This one is pretty easy, three visits, two of them being the 30 minute, and the last one is a 15 minute. 30 minute dog visits are $22.00 and 15 minute dog visits are $18.00. So the total would be $62.00.

Example 2 - A visit each day for my 3 cats.

  • I have 3 cats, and I would like them fed once a day, and their litter box scooped.
  • Also an easy one, a 20 minute cat visit is $18.00 for up to 3 cats. If you had more then 3, it's $1.00 additional per cat.

Example 3 - I have 2 dogs and 3 cats...so where do I start?

  • I would like them fed and the dogs let out twice a day, also the litter box scooped.
  • Getting a little more complicated now... In cases with dogs AND cats, we normally would only charge for the dog visit. In this case, 30 minutes should be enough time to let the dogs out, feed everyone and scoop the litter pan. In this case, we would have two 30 minute visits for 2 dogs, (+$3.00 for the second dog) so $22.00 + $3.00 x 2 visits in the day, or $50.00.

Example 4 - I want someone to stay overnight with my 2 dogs, and then let them out during the daytime.

  • I need an overnight visit, plus a let out during the day.
  • Overnight visits are $68.00 for one dog, plus an additional $5.00 for the second dog. For overnight stays, we offer discounted walks/let outs during the day, details on those prices are on our services page. A 30 minute visit with an overnight is $17.00. So, an 10-12 hour overnight ($68.00) plus an additional dog ($5.00) with a 30 minute let out during the day ($17.00) would be $90.00.

All of our prices are found on our services page, but if you need further explanation or would like to discuss your needs with a staff member, please don't hesitate to contact us.
